Being a fellow of the ICD for the past 22 years gave me great enjoyment and professional fulfillment topping it by a great honor to be elected President of the Middle East Section since February 2010.
The ICD continues to grow as an organization, with new fellows from the twelve countries of the Middle East that makes up our Section. With expansion come increased responsibilities, which our Registrar Fellow Nadim Abou-Jaoude and Councilor Fellow Cedric Haddad are carrying out very skillfully. Thanks also to our highly committed Section Officers for keeping our section running smoothly despite the turbulence we had in Lebanon and the region. But, what maintains the prestige and positive image of our organization is each one of you with their highest values of friendship and fraternity. You are an elite group of professionals whose education, culture, ethics, achievements and commitment to the profession give meaning to Fellowship. Your active participation in the various activities of the Section is essential to help us maintain our College leadership and fulfill its objectives.
I would like to take this opportunity to announce our next Induction Ceremony along with our Annual Meeting to be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the American University of Beirut. The management of the aging patient will be the central theme proposed by Fellow Andre Sacy, Chairman of the Scientific Committee. This would cover aging process and its repercussion on the teeth, bone, gums, salivary glands, specific procedures, treatments and protocols in different specialties, limitations, behavior of elderly patients, medications etc… Please mark your calendars as your presence and participation will help make this event a successful and gratifying experience to all of us.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the past leaders of our College and Section, and particularly to our President Emeritus and Past President of the College at large, Fellow Joseph Tamari. Continuing in their footsteps and expanding to reach new heights is the responsibility of us all.
Thank you for all you do for the ICD.
Fraternally,
Roy Sabri
